The South East Queensland Operating Centre currently has an opportunity for a Senior Consultant / Engineer in the areas of Civil/ Structural/ Mechanical or Materials to join the Materials Technology team based in Brisbane. The suitable applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications, combined with a minimum of 5 years experience in the areas of Corrosion, Materials and Remedial Engineering.
The Materials Technology Group provides highly technical consulting services in the areas of:
- Reinforced concrete, steel and timber structure durability, corrosion investigation and remediation projects
- Surveys of existing facilities including condition/structural assessments, corrosion audits, and remediation design, specification and contract management
- Durability assessment, materials and protective coatings specification and the development of corrosion protection/enhanced durability strategies for civil infrastructure projects
- Buildings, Construction, Façade and Concrete technology
- Design, commissioning, audit and monitoring of steel or concrete structure cathodic protection systems, corrosion prevention, corrosion monitoring and stray current mitigation
- Pipeline integrity assessment and repair
As an experienced consultant you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage clients, contractors, suppliers and other engineering discipline groups on a regular basis. The ability to plan and carry out field investigation projects, whilst managing competing work priorities will be essential. As a consultant you will be a self-driven individual who can work both autonomously and also thrive in a collaborative team environment. This position will also involve short-term travel to site locations based on project requirements.
