I've just recently moved to Sydney from Melbourne and would like to start a new BookGroup in the Inner West area.

I prefer fiction, and have a tendency to avoid anything with a chick lit label but am pretty open to most books. Having been a member of a long term bookgroup in Melbourne, it seems that books no more than about 300 pages work well as most people seem to read these in a month.

I am also suggesting meeetings on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm somewhere.

The first thing to do would get some members so if anyone is interested please post your interest with your email address, with a view to hold the first meeting on April 7th.

The next thing to do would be to put together a list of books for the first few meetings - add a suggestion or two if you like.

The the next thing to do would be to work out where to meet. As I am new to this town, I would happily take suggestions on a bar/cafe that would suit.

Couldnt work out how to edit the first post, so here is an update.

There was no session in April, as there doesnt seem to be any interest.

If anyone decides at a later date that they want to get involved in a bookgroup or start one let me know, I am female, in my mid thirties, living in Newtown.

All are welcome, as a mixed bookgroup with diverse ages can bring diverse and often interesting views on books that have been read.

Email is athome3@optusnet.com.au

Hi My name is Sylvia and I am interested in starting or joining a book club.

I have another friend Male who also wants to be involved. If I am starting one it would be held in my home in Glebe.

My friend lives in Annandale.

We are both 40 something and this would be our first
book club although prolific readers.

Hi Sylvia,
I tried replying to your email, but the email address is not being recognised by the optusnet server.

Haely@optusnet.com.au

Is there another email address I can send to?
