Hello, I am hoping that somebody out there can help me to plan our trip to Adelaide next year. We will be looking to stay in an appartment close to all the attractions.

We will be hiring a car but would also like to use public services where possible or tours.

We love the sea and the countryside and are still fairly active, so we can leave our wheelchairs at home!!

Any help and or suggestions to make our trip enjoyable would be very much appreciated. Last year we were in Sydney and Brisbane and we loved it so much we want to come back for another visit but to a different area.

We have lived in Spain since we retired but are English. Look forward to reading your comments.

You want a place near all the attractions? You obviously don't know much about the city you are going to! lol.

Adelaide is pretty much an big country town. Not much to see, not much to do. Barossa Valley is the only thing there and thats 40 mins out of the city!

The local love Adelaide and will fight you if you say anything bad about the place... But trust me, its a bit of a hole.

Hello old Brits,
I suggest you find an appartment in Glenelg. It's right on the coast with the most beautiful, white sandy beach. And it's not crowded. From here you can take a short trip on the tram to the city. I think the ferry to Kangaroo Island has been reinstated otherwise you need to drive south for about 2 hours to another departure point. KI is an unspoilt wilderness with incredible geograghy and wildlife. For a place in the country, Harndorf is quaint ( German origins ), Aldgate or Stirling - close to city and beautiful gardens and stately homes, Barossa and McLaren Vale - wine country.
Enjoy your holiday and try not to come during a heatwave. ( March 08, 15 days straight 38-40 degrees !! )
