GUITAR GOD GRAHAM GREENE
Graham Wins at the Star Music Awards, Hollywood!
The inaugural Star Music Awards were held on the 26th of October at the legendary Music Box (Henry Fonda) Theater in downtown Hollywood, being hailed as the Independent Music Grammys. The judging panel consisted of record company and media executives, as well as members of the bands Great White, Firehouse and Dio. It was a red carpet event, with press and other media in attendance.
In a coup for Australian music, Graham won the award for Best Rock Instrumental with his track Impressive Hair. As a result, Graham will be featured in US press and radio, and has attracted the attention of several media and promo companies in and around Los Angeles.
In his MySpace blog, Graham wrote:
The inaugural Star Music Awards were held at the famous Music Box Theater in Hollywood on October 26th, and I had the amazing and truly humbling experience of winning the 'Best Rock Instrumental' award for my tune 'Impressive Hair'. The SMA's are the Grammys for independent music, and to be acknowledged in this way is hugely gratifying and soul-fulfilling, to say the very least.
My heartfelt thanks go to Craig Goldy and the SMA judging panel, all those who worked so hard to make the awards possible, my beautiful wife, singer and soulmate Donna, and the guitar making genius who is Perry Ormsby. Thanks also to Saxon, Jim and Tommy, who make the vision come alive on stage, my mate Razor and the Metal Knights, and all my friends who have never stopped supporting me in my life and music.
A special and loving mention must go to my late mother Betty Greene, who gave me the gift of music. This one's for you, Mum.
CONGRATULATIONS GRAHAM GREENE!
