there is no real way around this, but i was at my local park in gladesville and i had both my amstaffs and my mates pitty with me, and all my kids ( my dogs) have become best of best buddies... so were in the park chillin out, playin with a footy, and this idiot with a pitbull thinkin he was a mad c...unt, let his off hte leash intending it to come over to mine and start sh!t..( i know this because his dog was dying to come over and either play or fight) and so he has let it off the lead, and its come screamin across the footy field, and just bowled my mates pitty over... and i didnt know what to do, i told the guy to come get his dog now before they start goin at it... and bouncer ( my mates pitty) got up and just started goin nuts.. ive never seen a fight like this before.. i go ahold of the idiots pitty, and pinned him to the ground by the neck to stop them fighting, and this guy pushes me off and lets them go at it again.. so i eventully knocked him down, and went to town on his face, i knocked him out eventually and the dogs were looking pretty bad now they were bleeding everywhere.. and i pinned them down again, and grabbed both by the collar and just held them either side of my legs, and waited for the guy to wake up.. i was there for about 10 mins, and he finally got up, i said take your dog now, and P iss off out of here.. he did the whole, yeah ill be back wait here this and that.. but there are some WA NK ERS out there!!!!

Good on you i would have done the same thing :)
there is plenty of knob jockeys wear i am that roll there Staffordshire Bull Terriers( not AST's APBT's) up the park in front of everyone, other park users and little kids ect..The rangers know about it but they wont do sh!t...like a ranger is going to confront 15 or so thugs with worked up dogs by there side....Theres no way i will take my APBT to heavy traffic parks anymore far to many chook feeders polluting them ..

Its F@$k whits like this idot who has let his dog of the leash in a public area, around other dogs just to cause trouble that has caused the breed to have a bad name and become banned in some states. So by you letting him walk home i say you know how to control your anger to some extent because i would not have let the f@#ker get up if his dog had of come near my dogs

Hi there I am an amstaff owner he is a male great dog love him to bits has lots of attitude very confident a great companion these breeds are sensational dogs with the right owners my boy is a dominant really happy outgoing dog but i will allways have him on a leash with his choker chain out in public it gets really frustrating when you have idiots that let there dogs off there leads as our breed of dogs have such tough laws against them and people are ready to pounce on them in any instant amstaffs, pitbulls any terrier breeds should only be with the people that respect them and love them for the dog they are because they are people loving dogs and socialised right they get along with anything or anyone my boy gets really protective of his yard but out he is a good boy that guy deserved a whole lot more than what he got maybe he should get in the ring with a pit see how it feels he deserves nothing and should have his dog taken from him.dogs are such a loyal companions and allways be loyal to there owners and we should be the same respect the breed and protect it.

i had the same experience as you. pit bulls are nasty, feral animals that are not worthy of being called companion pets. my german shepherd puppy got attacked out of the blue by a pit bull. the thing that was so funny was my german shepherd puppy was being hammered by this pit bull for the first few minutes (that was not funny) but all of a sudden something inately clicked in within my puppy and he got stuck into the pit bull. the pit bull went home with its owner neeeding to go to hospital. that will teach that STUPID owner with an obvious small 'you know what between his legs' to go leaving a mungrel pit bull off the leash in a public area. what an idiot!!!

yes, they're a breed bred to fight.

They should be put down if in any fight at all.

Break up a fight by kicking them hard from behind in the balls. Any luck and it wont breed again.

If more pitty owners had your attitude then we wouldn't have BSL! Unfortunately a few pitty ownwers are still in denial about this breed's potential to cause damage especially to other dogs and I still see them being taken out for a walk when I go visiting friends in Melbourne without a leash! Pitties can be great family pets providing that they are heavily socialised and trained adequately but they are still 'dog aggressive'. That isn't to say that all pitbulls are potential killers of other dogs but the risk is there and the sooner that pitty owners come to accept this the better instead of being in denial.

Oh and I just want to add that any large dog that has the potential to attack and seriously endanger the life of other dogs should be on a leash when being taken out for a walk.

Got any photos alias?

Sorry guys I know I haven't been around in a while in and out of hospital last couple of months. So sorry to hear about your kid getting hurt. I've found the best way to stop a dog fight (and it's not exactly savory;-) is to stick something up their butt. Works everytime especially if they're really going at it. If you try and pull them apart you can do more damage with them tearing eachothers skin cause they won't let go but as soon as a finger or something goes up their butt believe me they let go! From there just grab each dog by the neck and seperate them as soon as possible. that tool deserved a good kick in the head well done!
