The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest event staged in the Southern Hemisphere and we are looking for Administration Assistants for our Competitions Departments, including Arts & Showgirls, Domestic Animals, Cattle, Horse, Goat & Pig, Horticulture & Agriculture.
These roles are available commencing January 2010 and while working hours are predominantly Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm, in the lead up to the show a high degree of flexibility is essential. The role will require you to work over the 2010 Sydney Royal Easter Show period (1 – 14 April 2010) and will include evening and weekend shifts and public holidays. These casual positions are full time for the contracted period including pre, during and post the Show, with finishing dates varying from 2 days to 6 weeks post the Show.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to –
- General administration;
- Fielding enquiries;
- Liaising with key stakeholders, including Exhibitors, Officials and Sponsors;
- Providing assistance and support to section coordinators.
The people we seek will have –
- Exceptional customer service skills;
- An intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
- The ability to work independently and to tight deadlines;
- High attention to detail;
- A high level of motivation and initiative;
- The ability to work weekends and extended hours where required.
Whilst not essential, previous industry or agricultural experience will be highly regarded.
While these roles sound like a lot of fun, this is a high-pressure period in the RAS calendar and your previous admin skills and experience mean that you are able to hit the ground running. These roles are critical in the delivery of the Sydney Royal Easter Show and require a calm approach, an eye for detail and the ability to juggle many tasks at once. These are not entry level roles - they require some level of administrative experience and expertise.
