The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is a not for profit organisation that has been helping to shape agriculture in Australia since 1822. It is responsible for conducting the Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy and Fine Food Shows as well as year-round Sydney Showground events and the Australasian Animal Registry.
A fantastic opportunity exists for a suitably qualified person to join the team managing the competitions that fall under the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy and Fine Food Shows banner.
As part of the Wine, Dairy and Fine Food section, you will coordinate and be part of a team overseeing the planning and execution of the Sydney Royal Wine Show, Sydney Royal Fine Food Show and Sydney Royal Cheese and Dairy Produce Show. You will also demonstrate the necessary drive and initiative to take ownership of key projects that enhance the profile and reputation of the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy and Fine Food Shows amongst industry and the general public.
The successful applicant will have prior event management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management skills, database experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2003. You will need to be mature in your outlook and outcomes focused. Knowledge of the food and wine industrywill be highly regarded but is not essential. Attention to detail and a passion for ‘getting it right’ will form the basis of your success in this role.
The position is a full-time permanent role. While standard hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, the nature of the event industry means that there will be occasions when you will be required to work outside these hours.
