Sector Clinical Director – Psychiatry

Perm Full Time position as a Staff Specialist, or VMO Position No: 56161

Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience The Sector Clinical Director has delegated responsibility for the clinical governance of Gissing House acute inpatient services and the community mental service to monitor all relevant statutory and medico-legal requirements to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. The Sector Clinical Director is responsible for providing specialist psychiatric services for patients with mental illnesses and mental disorders in an integrated hospital/ community setting. Other duties may include: clinical supervision of psychiatric registrars, Career Medical Officers and other staff, active participation in the research and teaching program and contribution to the strategic and operational management of the MHS. The Sector Clinical Director will be required to work closely with other psychiatrists, Career Medical Officers and the multidisciplinary teams. The Sector Clinical Director will also be required to participate in an on-call consultant psychiatrist roster.

The service is accredited with the RANZCP as a training service, so an interest and ability to supervise trainees would be an advantage.
