We are looking for a System Analyst to work in the Catalyst Project Stream. The Senior Systems Analyst reports directly to the Applications Development Manager and is responsible for the analysis of existing systems to implement business change, as well as implement new systems into to the current landscape.

Key Accountabilities:

• 
  
  Analysis of interfaces between systems to ascertain interface changes/enhancements and upgrades;
  
  


• 
  
  Propose a system design/solution that satisfies the business requirements, and evaluates the current technology and systems. The proposed solution is to be technologically in-line with the industry standards and practices;
  
  


• 
  
  Delivery of a detailed design specification as an output of the design phase (will be dependant of the size and complexity of the change);
  
  


• 
  
  Work with infrastructure teams and architects to collaboratively drive out the physical implementation of the proposed solution;
  
  


• 
  
  Contribute to the writing of technical design documents to establish an operating model for the proposed system;
  
  


• 
  
  Collaboratively work through the analysis of testing defects through all of the SDLC testing cycles;
  
  


• 
  
  System solutions to take into account  IT Risks and Regulatory Compliance.
  
  

To be considered suitable, candidates should demonstrate:

 Essential

• 
  
  Proven experience in developing enterprise-strength application solutions;
  
  


• 
  
  In-depth knowledge in system development life cycle (SDLC) and experience in applying effective governance and management controls over SDLC processes;
  
  


• 
  
  Leading Edge Application Technology and Approach (eg Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), and Web services);
  
  


• 
  
  Extensive technical knowledge of systems, technology architecture and standards;
  
  


• 
  
  Problem solving skills in a dynamic, complex & fast changing environment;
  
  


• 
  
  Negotiation Skills and Influencing Skills in dealing with senior executives, LOBs and within IT organisation;
  
  


• 
  
  Tertiary qualifications in IT or related field;
  
  


• 
  
  Experience with Object Oriented design.
  
  

Desirable

• Experience with implementing technology solutions for ETL platforms and implementing ETL solutions using Microsoft SQL SSIS;


• Previous experience with implementing solutions on DB2;


• Finance Industry knowledge, specifically treasury, and structured finance an added plus;


• Knowledge of mainframe and non-mainframe environments;


• Experience in using UML for system modelling;
